The holidays mean lots of sharable snacks (even if you can't all gather to eat them in person this year)! I don't often make sweets because I prefer savory foods (even savory snacks) but I'll break out the sugary foods for special occasions. These just happen to be sweet, salty, and the easiest thing to make.
Pros: no bake, sweet/salty
Cons: literally just eating sugar
Ingredients:
One 12 oz box of Chex cereal
3/4 cup of smooth peanut butter
1 1/4 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips
4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 cups of powdered sugar
Pinch of salt
In a large microwave safe bowl, combine your chocolate, butter, and peanut butter. Microwave for 45-60 seconds at a time. Stir to mix ingredients together. Continue to microwave and then stir until everything is melted and well combined.
Add in your vanilla and a pinch of salt.
Slowly fold in your Chex cereal until it's all coated in chocolate.
Pour some powdered sugar into a large plastic ziplock bag. Put in half of the Chex mixture. Add more powdered sugar. Add in the remaining cereal and top off with the last of the sugar.
Shake the bag until everything is coated! Set aside for 15 minutes so in the fridge so the chocolate can firm up before serving.
