Growing up, these were the wings my mom made for every cookout. She'd marinate them and my dad would grill them. While we don't eat them as much nowadays, they are still one of my favorite wings and I still haven't tasted anything like them anywhere else. This long weekend, bring a little bit of Mama Chu to your cookout!
Pros: sweet and salty lemongrass
Cons: patience will grilling
Ingredients:
3 lbs of chicken wings (cleaned)
1/4 cup of oyster sauce
2 tablespoons chopped lemongrass
2 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon MSG
Heavy pinch of salt
Combine and mix everything in a bowl to make your marinade.
Coat your wings evenly and set aside for at least an hour in the fridge.
Grill on low or indirect heat for about 30 minutes or until wings are fully cooked and slightly charred. I closed the lid on my grill and turned them every 5-7 minutes or so to prevent burning.
Enjoy with a cold beer, some sun, and your other favorite BBQ dishes.
